OMBRE & MICROBLADING CONSENT
Aftercare of All SPMU Procedures
Careful attention needs to be taken when caring for your semi-permanent makeup post procedure, within the next 3 days your procedure will lightly scab over then slough away, do not pick or pull at the treated area, and only use aftercare provided. Do not get the area wet or allow the jets of the shower to hit you directly in the tattooed area in the first 7 days. It will take 24 hours for the area to create a protective barrier; your final colour result will take 28 days. A retouch cannot in any circumstances take place until 28 days as scarring may occur. Your procedure will take 3 phases, 1) heal, 2) peel, 3) fade. We do not recommend that make up is worn post procedure or during the healing process, if makeup must be worn, we recommend Combat Cosmetics minerals with Manuka honey.
If aftercare is not followed procedures will not heal correctly and results will be poor.
Eyebrows
Allow the brows to dry heal for 3-5 days, then after applying a small amount of aftercare with a cotton bud once a day when needed for up to 3 days. If your skin is oily in the T-zone we recommend that aftercare should not be applied. Ensure no creams, soap, make-up or cleansers touch the area for 7 days. Do not pick, pull or touch the treated area, swelling may appear in the next 24 hours but will be minimal.
Signs of Infection
If appropriate aftercare is not followed infection may occur. The signs of infection are:
- Swelling and redness that increases around the wound.
- A severe burning and throbbing sensation round the site.
- Increased tenderness and increasingly painful to touch.
- An unusual discharge (yellow or green) with an offensive smell.
The risk of infection can be greatly reduced by good general hygiene including i.e. hand washing before touching the brow.
Speak to your practitioner or seek medical attention immediately if you suffer from any of the above or have any concerns regarding infection in your tattoo or if there are any signs of an allergic reaction to any of the products used.
Important Notes
The Red Cross has advised not to give blood for 6 months following a semi-permanent make-up procedure. Do not have any form of laser in the direct area; the pigment will alter due to titanium dioxide in the pigment. For MRI scans inform the operator of your SPMU procedure, you may feel a slight tingling sensation in the area SPMU shows as an artefact through these scanners. Ensure the procedure is healed before considering Botox or collagen fillers in the direct area. If you have any concerns regarding the healing of the area, please contact your technician/practitioner. If the area becomes infected, please seek advice from your GP, do not pick the area.
